    Title: 大學生單車環島的參與動機、阻礙因素及運動價值;Sport Values, Constraint Factors, and Participative Motivations of Cycling Around-Taiwan for College Students

    Abstract: 本研究目的在瞭解大學生單車環島的參與動機、阻礙因素及運動價值。採質性研究方式,採立意取樣方式選取10位曾參與單車環島且完成全程的大學生為研究對象,透過半結構式訪談、參與觀察及文件分析收集資料。所得資料以開放性編碼、主軸編碼及選擇性編碼方式進行歸納,比較與分析。研究結果發現參與動機包括實現夢想(自我肯定、自我實現、追求目標),挑戰極限(努力堅持、求勝意志、不願屈服),自我滿足(投入熱情、期待成長、自我信念)。阻礙因素包括個人性(無力感、負面思考),人際性(家庭因素、朋友牽制),結構性(器材配備、天候環境)等。運動價值包括個人性目的(享受過程、正向思考、自我信仰),社會性目的(獲得認同、相互幫助、革命情感),能力性工具(適應能力、身心成長、自我省思),道德性工具(人的連結、應對進退、生活態度)。完成單車環島的大學生以強烈的自我肯定、自我實現、追求目標的動機去實現夢想,他們以勇敢及堅定的意志去挑戰極限,以堅持不懈的態度追求自我滿足。他們會受到身心負荷過重產生的無力感及負面思考,單車本身器材的功能、操作及損壞,高溫及雨天等不良天候,以及騎乘車道陡峭、不勝負荷的環境等阻礙。這些阻礙可藉由家庭、朋友或同儕的支持,享受過程、正向思考,堅持到底等方式克服。大學生參與單車環島可以獲得同儕或同伴的認同、團隊相互扶持與幫助、培養團隊凝聚力及人際之革命情感;能擴大個人的舒適圈及適應能力、獲得身心成長與滿足、以及對自我生命的反思與成長;能提升關懷他人的憐憫心、謙卑言行、高尚生活態度與環保意識等價值。
    The purpose of this study is to understand the sport values, constraint factors, and participative motivations of cycling around Taiwan for college students. Qualitative research method was adopted and by purposive sampling. Ten college students were selected who have finished successfully in cycling around Taiwan. The data were collected by in-depth semi-structured interview, participation in observation and document analysis. The data are summarized, compared and analyzed by open coding, axial coding and selective coding. The results show that the participative motivations includes the implementation of the dream (self-confirm, self-realization, pursue their goals), challenge themselves limitations (insist on, will to win, do not yield), self-satisfaction (enthusiasm, look forward to growth, self- beliefs). The constraint factors include personal (powerlessness, negative thinking), interpersonal (family factors, friends containment), structural (equipment, weather environment) and so on. The sports values include personal purposes (enjoyment the process, positive thinking, self-belief), social purpose (gain recognition, mutual help, revolutionary emotion), ability tools (adaptability, the growth of physical and mental, self-reflection), moral tools (human links, coping with the advance and retreat, life attitude). The students who have ever finished successfully in cycling around Taiwan are full strongly of participative motivations to achieve their dreams, to strive powerfully to challenge the limit of themselves, persist to purse self-satisfaction. The obstacle factors include the overloads of body and mind, and negative thinking in the process, bicycle equipment itself not better, the bad weather in high temperature and rain, as well as riding lane steep, overloading environment.The successful factors include social support, enjoy, positive thinking, and hold on straight to the end. College students through cycling around Taiwan do get peer or peer recognition, team support and help each other; cultivate teamwork and interpersonal revolutionary feelings; expand the personal comfort area and adaptability, gain the growth and satisfaction in physical and mental, as well as self-reflection and the growth of life; foster the compassion for others, humility with the words and deeds, noble attitude towards life and environmental awareness.Keywords: extreme sport, bike, sports behavior, experience education, adventure education
